Natalie's Score: 95/100

Owner and winemaking consultant Peter Gamble and chief winemaker Roberto de la Mota have created a blockbuster Argentine red for the 2014 vintage. Made from the iconic Malbec grape, this wine underwent a spontaneous fermentation, rather than one induced by the winemaker with specific yeasts. The wine was aged in oak barrels. This is another gorgeous red wine from Versado - this wine and winemaker perform consistently well every year. Aromas of fleshy black fruit, dried herbs, spices and pepper. Pair with grilled lamb. Highly recommended

Malbec food pairings: roasted veal, hearty soups, roasted duck breast, hamburger.

Reviews and Ratings

"Versado" is Spanish from "well-versed". And owner and winemaking consultant Peter Gamble and chief winemaker Roberto de la Mota are well-versed in making incredibly complex, perfect structured Malbec as is this Versado from Argentina's Mendoza viticultural region. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
