This wine is a blend of 80% Malbec, 10% Bonarda and 10% Syrah grapes that was matured for a year in oak. Black fruit, smoke and tar. This wine needs cellar time and decanting of 2 hours. Pencil led and black fruit on the finish.

Reviews and Ratings

Jaime rated this wine as 90/100
Jennifer Havers, WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This was an interesting blend I was excited to try. Deep oak and fruit aromas come out at first, but fruit comes forward as the wine opens up. Notes of pepper and charcoal are also present along with rich red fruit. Medium tannin and a medium to long finish. Great with grilled meats or mushroom dishes.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
