Juicy with mouth-watering acidity and pleasantly bitter, tarry black fruit and spice and wood smoke. Full-bodied but not heavy and an good food companion. The Appaxximento method of winemaking was first developed by Masi in the XXI century, a technique of infusing the wine with greater concentration of flavour by drying the grapes before fermentation.

Valpolicella Classico Superiore food pairings: game, roast leg of lamb.

This Appaxximento style Italian red wine celebrates the 650 ANNIVERSARIO (anniversary) of this iconic winery in Valpolicella (1353-2003). Pietro Alighieri, son of the renowned poet Dante (yes, Inferno Dante) bought vineyard land in 1353, that for 20 generations of this family has produced wines. – Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
