Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A traditional style of Barolo with browning edges, with a nose of star anise and pot pourri. Dried sour cherries with coffee and bitter cocoa, this wine is more about its savoury elegance than upfront fruit and has a gentle clean acidity that creates a fresh finish. Porcini ravioli with burnt sage butter. @wrightwineblog
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Sourced from a single vineyard, this Barolo has dark raspberry and almost minty aromas (herbal). The palate mirrors this, along with cherry and oak flavours in licorice and coffee. Dry on the finish, decanting or more ageing is required. Pair with poultry, veal or lamb.
Renato Ratti Marcenasco 2015 Barolo is a savoury, medium-plus-bodied red produced by the Ratti family of La Morra. Fragrant with crushed wild violets, red berry, raspberry, liquorice and savoury herbs on the palate. Great acidity for food. Pair with grilled game sausages or roast pheasant. - Community Wine Reviews
