A tannic red wine with tarry black fruit and toasty oak. Full-bodied and savoury. Needs cellar time. Then when you open it decant 2 hours and enjoy with rare filet mignon.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A flavourful blend of Cab Sauv, Merlot and Syrah from Mendoza, Argentina. The nose shows lots of juicy ripe red berries and vanilla, then a juicy palate shows more red berries, baking spice and slight mint. Great full-bodied mouthfeel, well-balanced with a spicy red berry finish. There's a lot of beef on Argentinian menus and this is a super match for beef dishes.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The brooding full-bodied Cabernet blend is a brilliant ruby colour with some slow thick legs. Bing cherry, plum, smoke, baking spices on the nose. The palate continues with red fruit, vanilla, toast, cedar and a menthol lift. The wine is quite tannic and could use a little more time in the cellar. Acidity is medium+ and refreshing. A nice warm spice(alcohol?) finish. I suggest decanting prior to serving. Argentinian BBQ meats pair well.
Tasted: March 2015
Four generations of this family-owned winery have been making wine. The vines are planted in limestone soil. This wine was aged for 14 months in oak barrels, 70% of which were French and 30% were American. This is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Syrah grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
