A robust, complex, beautifully structured Italian red wine blend. Aromas of fleshy blackberry and black plum with smoke. Very seductive. Pair with prime rib. This full-bodied Italian red wine is produced by a partnership between Vittoria Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi, established in 1993. Pair with prime rib.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

There's meditation wine then there's Luce! Wow! From their first vintage in 1993, fast forward to 2013 and wow, what a remarkable success this partnership has been! Seductive, full bodied, deep and delicious, this stunning Super Tuscan blend of Merlot and Sangiovese shines in every imaginable way. Concentrated dark fruit, spice, and savory notes. The palate is rich with layers of sweet dark and dried fruits, cedar, spice, with fantastic texture. Such an impressive wine! Tasted November 2016. 94 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Simon Chen rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

The oak is a touch more than what I like for a Super Tuscan. However, the structure of this wine is just amazing. The palate is opulent with velvety texture and the finish is strong yet smooth. One of my favorite vintages from Luce.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A silky smooth modern Tuscan blend of Merlot and Sangiovese. While still young with it limpid purple colour, this wine shows elegance, fine tannins, and vibrant yet gentle acidity which seems to last forever. It has aromas of blueberries, blackberries, leather, mild cedar, fresh herbs, and astringent spices. Score 92. (Reviewed Nov. 2016)
This full-bodied Italian red wine, bottled in December 2014, is produced in partnership with Vittoria Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi. The wine is elegant and well-made. - Community Wine Reviews
