A fresh and mouth-watering Sangiovese (with a smattering of some local varieties) bright with fresh blackberry, ripe raspberry, cherry, wild herb, dried tobacco leaf, minty, nutty, pepper spice and orange zest flavours on the palate. Decant for two hours prior to pouring a meat-lover's pizza or Bolognese dish.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A lovely fresh and vibrant Chianti Classico. Aromas of cherry and bright strawberry, with hints of earth and smoke. Medium bodied, with bright, mouthwatering acidity, light tannins, and fresh, bright fruit flavours. Enjoy with light tomato pasta dishes or margharita pizza.
Produced by Frescobaldi, Tenuta Perano 2016 Chianti Classico is a savoury, full-bodied Tuscan red made from the Sangiovese grape. Bright red cherry, dark chocolate and cranberry aromas on the nose, this Chianti is mouth-watering with tart berry and plum fruit on the palate. Tannins are medium and the whole is nicely balanced. Enjoy with a meat pizza or Bolognese sauce. - Community Wine Reviews
