From the Langhe, Piedmont wine region, a solid and well-priced Nebbiolo under $20 with rose petals, candied cherry and anise aromas on the nose. Dry, medium-plus-bodied with dried cherry, leather and earthy flavours on the palate. Finishes with bright acidity and grippy tannins. Pair with a charcuterie board.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Consistently excellent wine at a great price from a dependable producer. Aromas of violets, leather, warm spice and a bit of dried berry. Medium bodied on the palate with bright acidity, young tannins, and flavours of ripe and dried berries, leather and peppery notes. More leather and warm spicy notes on the finish. Enjoy with pan roasted duck breast.
Excellent value under $20 on Fontanafredda 2018 Nebbiolo. Full-bodied with red berry, cherry, leathery notes, violets, dried herbs, anise and earthy truffles. Long finish of tart cherry and grippy tannins. Matured in oak for eight months. - Community Wine Reviews
