Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A whopping 17% alcohol. So dense. So viscous. So sweetly fruited. Enough acid to balance it out and the alcohol is not hot. Almost port-like in weight. This wine demands red meat or can stand up to any cheese, even blue. Lots of brambly liqueur notes with warm spice and roasted nuts. There's a crushed rock/mineral note buried deep in the fruit. This wine is insane. You can't take the glass away from your nose. 93 points.
Fatalone Riserva (2012) is a rustic and robust 100% Primitivo from the Gioia Del Colle region in Sicily. Grapes are dry-framed and the vineyard is certified organic, Natural yeasts were used in the fermentation of the wine and the wine was fermented under controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks and matured 12 months in steel, 12 months in oak cask. The Primitivo is dark red to garnet rim in the glass and cherry, plum, mulberry and spicy on the palate. Pair with slow-cooked beef ribs with garlic and rosemary. - Community Wine Reviews
