From Vignobles Dourthe Château Pey La Tour Réserve Du Château 2017 is a great value, elegant Bordeaux blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Sauvignon with ripe blackcurrant, briar leaf, cedar spice and flinty aromas on the nose and is still quite youthful. On the palate, this medium-plus-bodied red is dry with red currant, dark chocolate, hazelnut and cedar spice flavours on the palate. Decant for a couple of hours prior to pouring it with a venison filet mignon or grilled ribeye steak. Drink or hold.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Elegant wine from Bordeaux, the Chateau Pey la Tour 2017 Reserve du Chateau offers a lovely bouquet of black plum, red currant, bay leaf, graphite, coffee, dark chocolate, dill and cedar. Crafted by Vignobles Dourthe, form 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine shows good structure, a full body, and polished tannins that are well layered with the acidity. The finish is round, releasing flavors of tart plum, black berry, tobacco leaf, molasse, leather, baking spice, dill and cedar. Delicious. Enjoy!
