Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Dark garnet with a fruity nose of ripe cherries. The 2015 palate shows ripe cherries, vanilla, tobacco, dried herbs and touch of smoke. Extra-dry and slightly tannic with dried herbal finish. Enjoy with grilled lamb chops garnished with rosemary.
Tasted June 2017
A full-bodied Spanish red wine from one of the country's most respected producers. Aromas of dark fruit and smoke. Great structure. Pair this with a rare steak. OTHER: Named Decanter's Man of the Year in 2015, winemaker Alvaro Palacios has played a prominent role in redefining Priorat and Bierzo. This 2015 gem from Bierzo delivers a lifted and aromatic nose with impressive berry and forest notes adding complexity. This is a pretty but substantial wine that is smooth and caressing without sacrificing structure. A lovely liquorice snap emerges on the long finish. Enjoy with grilled steak or pork ribs. Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
