Great value wine. Clos la Coutale is from the Cahors region of Southwest France. France, being a country that labels its wine from Regions, and you have to know which grape comes from which region. This wine is a Malbec - a big juicy tasty Malbec. It has lots of flavours of spices and oak, but it's not over-powering the wine or cloying. This is a great wine at a great price.
Philippe Bernède can be proud of his remarkable Cahors 2010, from a family vineyard of 35 hectares planted with Auxerrois [Malbec], a beautiful garnet in color, intense, full-bodied, velvety with subtle notes of undergrowth and truffles, firm tannins, yet flexible, powerful and warm.
