Côtes de Castillon is a dynamic wine region and neighbour of Saint-Émilion. A dry, rich, smoky red with ripe dark fruit and earthy savoury herbs on the palate. Pair with meaty casseroles.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A fresh and fruity Bordeaux rouge showing plenty of red fruit and dark fruit aromas followed by cedar. The fruits continue on the palate with gentle tannins, balanced acidity, and medium body. A good wine with great value. Enjoy this alongside a nice beef or pork roast with vegetables.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Chateau le Peyrat 2017 comes from Castillon Côtes de Bordeau, neighbor of Saint-Emilion and north of the Dordogne River. Made mainly of Merlot and some Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine offers aromas of red currant, red plum, eucalyptus, graphite, dill, spice and cedar. Fresh with a short finish, this youthful Bordelais will pair well with strong cheese or a sauce dish. Palate, red plum, red currant, menthol, tar, baking spice and cedar. Enjoy.
Château Le Peyrat 2017 is a rich Bordeaux red blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Smoky with rich plum, blackberry and underbrush flavours lingering on the palate. Tannins are firm. Better in 2020. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
