A firm tannic grip on the palate of this pleasing Bordeaux wine will smooth out with 2-3 more years in the cellar then decant 1-2 hours. A medium-bodied, easy-drinking French red wine blend from Bordeaux. Notes of dark fruit and some oak. Pair with a pepper steak. This French red wine sources Cabernet and Merlot grapes from the Montagne Saint-Émilion region, the largest of Saint-Émilion satellite appellations in Bordeaux.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Aromas of blackberries, autumn leaves, as well as sweet spice and a touch of eucalyptus plant. On the palate, there are flavours of dark berries, floral notes and sweet spice. It is an enjoyable and well balanced wine, with velvety tannins that are well integrated with the acidity to produce a perfect harmony. Great wine at an excellent price point.

Tasted November 2017
From winemaker and proprietor, Jean-Bernard Saby & Fils, Château Guillou (2015) is a medium-bodied, easy-drinking French red wine blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc grapes from the Montagne Saint-Émilion region, the largest of Saint-Émilion satellite appellations in Bordeaux. Look for sweet spice, light herbs with ripe red berry and mocha notes on this elegant red from a winemaker and wine family to watch for the future. Excellent value Bordeaux red. - Community Wine Reviews
