Beautifully made with superb craftsmanship in this classic French red wine blend from the Rhone Valley! Full-bodied, concentrated and complex with layers of rich black fruit flavour and smoke. Great cellar potential but why wait? There's Old World style here, but also a modern twist and reinvigorated New World type energy. Pair with roast beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

This is a wonderful rich, full-bodied Chateuneuf du Pape from the 2012 vintage offering exceptional aromatics, structure, balance and typicity. Elegant, pleasant and integrating well when tasted in February 2016. Expressing red field berries, tart red currant, savoury herbs and minerality. This wine is tightly-wound and designed to pair with food. Would accompany a braised red meat dish, cassoulet or old-world cheese platter with pleasure. Complexity and sensory pleasure in a bottle. Drinkable now and worthy of cellaring a case for up to a decade 2016-2026 and enjoying it's evolution. @jonsteeves rated 94/100 tasted @VanWineFest 2016
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep and inky with a rich concentration of dark fruits. Stewed cherry, cassis, plum, vanilla, leather, game, smoke, earth and baking spices. Medium+ acidity with polishing tannins. The length is long on a warm fruit driven finish. Great gift wine or one for the cellar. Classic CdP pairing of finer cuts of beef. I'm thinking Prime Rib roast and I'll take the medium-rare end!

The 2012 vintage of the southern French red wine Beaucastel is simply spectacular and definitely one of the best since 2001. Great cellar wine. - Community Wine Reviews
