Antiche Terre Venete 2019 Ripasso Valpolicella is a robust and concentrated red blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes. Grapes were hand-harvested and fermented for 10 days at 25°C, after which the wine was filtered and stored in stainless steel tanks until the end of December/beginning of January, when there was a second fermentation for five days on the Amarone must. The blended wine was aged for 12 months in a variety of French oak barrels. Look for savoury herbs, dark cherry, dark ripe fruit, smoked meat, baking spice and cocoa flavours vibrant on the palate. Pour with a traditional veal Parmesan.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The 2019 Valpolicella Ripasso, by Antiche Terre, located in Verona, Italy, exposes a bouquet of black raisin, strawberry, bitter almond, barbecue smoke, brown sugar and sweet tobacco. Blended from the usual grapes, Corvina Veronese, Corvinone and Rondinella, this delicious wine shows structure and freshness. Medium body, silky tannins, with well integrated acidity and lovely lenghthy finish. Palate: cherry, cranberry, cinnamon, rose, leather, sweet tobacco and roasted hazelnut. Enjoy!
