Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Yummy red blend from Campania in Southern Italy. Juicy and fruit forward. Medium integrated tannins, balanced, medium acidity, full bodied. Red berry fruit, mocha, plum, leather, cherry on the palate. Tasted after 2h decant. 89 points. Good value.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A red blend from Southern Italy. Lots of ripe red fruit on the nose and palate with more cherry and leather notes. Decent acidity, tannins and good balance. Nicely paired with a thin crust Chorizo pizza cooked to perfection in a wood burning oven.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Intense and intriguing on the nose with smokey blackberry, liquorice, dusty leather and salty seashells. Flavours are equally engaging with dark fruit, lightly salted blueberries, baking spices and leathery lavender blossoms. Medium plus acidity, medium body and finish with rustic, balanced tannins. This is a good counterpart for medium cheeses and barbecued meats, beef brisket or pork ribs! Yummy. 89 Points
Made from the Aglianico wine grape, Rocca del Dragone 2013 is elegant with rich and intense flavours of ripe raspberry, cherry, red plum, dried herbs, cake spice and a finishing touch of mocha on the palate. "Rocca del Dragone" translates roughly to "dragon's fortress." Pair with roast dragon. - Community Wine Reviews
