A gorgeous, dry sherry with toasted almond and hazelnut from start to finish. Sherry is worth drinking on it's own not just for cooking, especially dry versions like this with nuts and hard cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

Trevor Sabourin - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Fantastic Value. Aromas of caramel coated apple, toasted almond, lemon, raisin, and green olive. Bone-dry on the palate, with brine and a hint of clove adding complexity. Touch of alcohol heat and a long finish. Enjoy with a plate of Manchego cheese, nuts, and olives.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

An excellent choice for value sipping sherry. Pronounced AH-monTEE-ado for the city of Montilla, and not like armadillo.
Pale amber, with transparent legs.
The smell underlines its modest alcohol - a bit more than the average fino. Prailines, caramelized sugar, cedar, lemon peel.
Lots of verve to this. Manzanilla mustard seed notes seem a little atypical, but are interesting. Baked apple and cinnamon, brown spices nutmeg, cinn etc...). Lovely!
Fine stuff to have around for contemplative sipping. Pair it with cashews or tapas.
Neil Phillips rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium in intensity on the nose, this is a great dry Sherry for those who want a little less bracing notes than a Fino.

Toasted hazelnut, orange zest, brioche, butterscotch, tobacco and a hint of leather.

Dry with caramel and walnut on the palate, unsweetened orange marmalade, old wood notes linger through the medium+ finish.

Amazing value.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A beautiful caramel colour with amber hues. Toasted almond, sugar, coffee aromas. Layers of flavours; hazelnut, marmalade and fig. Very dry and mouth watering with a long almond and brioche finish. A great sipper on its own or pair with tapas on a Friday night with friends. Tasted March 13, 2017
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A crisp, dry and developed Amontillado sherry. Medium amber coloured with slow moving tears. Made from 100% Palomino grapes. Aromas of caramel, maple syrup, dried fruit and walnuts. Flavours are resinous, reflecting salted walnuts, lemon pith and a hint of burnt sugar. Medium plus acidity, full bodied with a long dry finish (2g/L) This would be a nice pairing with salted caramels, dry roasted almonds and olives. 90 points. Tasted November 2017
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Need an aperitif today? Try this Amontillado sherry with a generous aroma flavour profile. Abundant notes of citrus, honeyed stone fruit, melons, figs, nuttiness, brine and more. A superb experience, especially when served chilled. Enjoy.
