This savoury, juicy, mouth-watering Italian white wine from Fontanafredda is a tremendous Gavi di Gavi. Lots of vibrant acidity to whet your appetite for fresh seafood or as a chilled aperitif. The grapes are grown in the southeast region of Piedmont in the hills of northern Italy near the village of Gavi and made from the grape variety Cortese. A lovely straw hue in the glass. Finishes with lemon zest and green apple. Pair with soft cheeses and tapas.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Fresh and crisp, Fontanafredda Gavi Di Gavi 2015 is another award winning wine from Piedmont, Italy. Apple, pear, peach, floral on the palate with a vibrant acidity, the wine is well balanced and suitable to drink on its own or with light appetizers and fish dishes.
Pam Hatton rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A zesty nose of lemon-lime, white flowers and minerals promises a clean fresh food friendly wine that has the same lemon lime acidity with a touch of citrus peel bitterness on the palate. Even with the acidity, it is still balanced and round in the mouth with a long finish. The juicy acidity in this Cortese makes it work well as an aperitif, with summer vegetable dishes, white fish and shellfish.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From Piedmont, Italy this elegant white wine is aromatic with acacia flowers, lemon, lily-of-the-valley and apples. Delicate and appetizing-perfect at brunch.

Made from the Cortese grape, Gavi di Gavi is crunchy golden apple, pear and white peach. This wine typically has an almond and citrus finish with a zesty acidity. Excellent to cut through any cream sauces, fresh seafood dish or soft cheeses. Drink now while fresh. - Community Wine Reviews
