Reviews and Ratings

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lots of aromas here; India ink, cedar, leather, blackberry, and blueberry. The taste is fruitier than the aromas would lead you to believe with blackberry and black cherry flavours heightened by some really nice acidity. Grippy tannins give it enough structure to make it a good prime rib pairing.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A very nice Cab-Merlot at a good price point. Some tart fruit and spice, with hints of leather and evergreen. Fruit balances with nice acidity on the palate. Medium tannin and medium to longer finish. Great to pair with braised beef short ribs.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Tart dark fruits give a nice acid pull. Definitely cold climate. Medium full with a smooth finish. Good with a medium-rare steak.

Wineboy rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Highly aromatic, with blackberries being featured and surrounded by lots of tertiary aromas including leather, animal, spice and cedar. Fully dry, with lots of pleasing tannins balancing fruit forward style. Finishes dry and long.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Blackberry, forest, spice and black cherry aromas give way to a very fruit driven palate with dark fruit and cherry flavors coming out strongly. Tannins are well structured and the finish lingering.
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Medium-bodied red with juicy tannins. Dark ruby red in the glass, ripe fruit and medium acidity in the mouth. Lots of ripe, rich fruit on the nose. For sure you would want to pair this with a rich, red meat dish; a beef stew perhaps.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby colour with some aromatic allegory. Blackberry, raspberry, light plum and stemmy herbal notes. Flavours are tart and mouth watering. Ripe fruit comes through with some cherry and nutmeg. Earthy and crisp. Pair with chilli cheese fries and nachos. 86 points
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby, the nose shows red currant, cherry, green herb and pepper. Medium bodied, red currant, cherry, green leaf, pepper and vanilla show through on the palate. The tannins are a little green and grippy. Pair with grilled rare beef.
Tasted November 2015.
