Natalie's Score: 91/100 A terrific and complex Californian blend of Sauvignon and Semillon grapes. Not loads of acidity: smoky but not buttery like chardonnay. Pair with shellfish.
Fumé Blanc food pairings: roast turkey leg and wings with lemon pepper and green herbs, smoked salmon benny, butternut squash ravioli,.
Terrific Turkey Wine

Reviews and Ratings
Carola Price rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review: Bright and golden. Fig, pear, grass and some peach on the nose. In the mouth it is lively and acidic yet smokey and rich. Flavours of pear, hay, fig and peach pit linger for 30 plus seconds. I am consistently impressed by the wines from Chateau St. Jean. Pair with ahi tuna poke, turkey burgers, eggs benedict and halibut with mango and onion salsa. Drink now to 3 years.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: This delightful aromatic wine did not disappoint. This is where "green flavours" collide with stone fruit and barrel notes. Everything works in balance here, and is one of the most expressive Fumé Blanc's I've had in a long time. The price point cannot be beat. 90 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Nicole Lewis rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: This wine smells like pear, with hints of durian fruit, dried summer savory, and blue cheese. It is a crisp, full bodied white blend that carries a cleansing and herbaceous acidity. It is subdued and elegant with a long finish that has tinges of pear, savory and durian fruit. I would pair this with baked tilapia served with mango chutney. Reviewed by Nicole T. Lewis on July 24, 2016
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Smoky pear on the nose with lemongrass, grapefruit and lemon flavors. Remarkably crisp with a citrus dominated finish.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: A lovely and fairly complex Californian Fume Blanc. Smokey, grassy and vegetal aromas. Bone dry with flavours of lime, gooseberry and some minerality. Fresh with lovely acidity. Would go well with clam chowder.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: This lovely wine smells like pear, grapefruit, and grass and feels a bit buttery. Lots of acidity would make this a great companion for shellfish and creamy pasta.
This is a Californian cuvée of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon to create Fumé Blanc. The 2013 vintage of the Fumé Blanc Sonoma saw 25,000 cases produced. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation and is 70% is aged in stainless steel tanks and 30% in older oak barrels. - Community Wine Review
