Reviews and Ratings

Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Vivid blueberry and floral nose, cherry, blackberry with a coating of tobacco leaf on the palate. Serious chalky tannins - wicked stuff. Watch out for sediment! A must-have with beef tenderloin wrapped in proscuitto in a blueberry-balsamic reduction.
Andrea Shapiro - Andrea's Wine Cellar rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Some complexity found in this Beaujolais. From 65 -100 year old Gamay vines hailing from winemaker Stéphane Aviron's organic and biodynamic vineyard. Medium ruby color, somewhat on the pale side with a bit more depth. Aged 12-14 months in oak. Aromas consisting of: raspberry, strawberry, licorice, cooked red fruit with sewed strawberries and a hint of menthol. Medium flavour intensity on the palate: bitter cherry and strawberry with stemmy, woody and green tannins. A touch grippy with some peppery notes at the end. High acidity with a long finish and M+ tannins. Dry. Age 5+ yrs.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
