Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: This screams for food. Dried herbs and a really interesting dried celery note in the aroma, as well as raspberry. The savoury aspect carries through to the taste along with the fruit. There's a little fine tannin and bright acidity. This is a medium-light bodied wine, but with the character of something much richer; it's quite different. Would pair well with lighter tomato pasta dishes as well as herb bread and lighter cheeses.
Nicole Lewis rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Lovely Italian wearing garnet robes and smelling of blackerry, ripe cherry, savoury, and cedar. The wine is full bodied with medium acidity and well-integrated, suede tannins. It has a long, involved finish that captivate and replay the blackberry-ripe cherry, spice and subtle wood notes. The balance between the fruit, spice and wood notes is delectable. Excellent quality to price ratio if you love full-bodied, intensely layered red wines. This would pair well with cured meats.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: A flavourful Italian red with aromas of cherry, blackberry, herbs & cedar with ripe cherry, raspberry and spicey wood coming through on the palate. It is full bodied with a medium finish and moderate acidity and tannins. It will make an excellent addition to any tomato based dish.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: The IGT system was established to allow Italian winemakers the flexibility to experiment with new varietals. This wine seems mostly a normal blend of typical Valpolicella grapes, but with a twist - it has merlot in it. Virtually there is so little it hardly accounts for the fact that it is mostly Corvina. The colour is a vibrant ruby. The aromas have lots of red plum, strawberry, balsam, white pepper, and pain grille. A tasty wine to crack out for some barbecued tenderloin.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: The 2013 vintage is a well-balanced and food friendly IGT offering juicy red and black fruit notes with savoury herb, tomato leaf and black olive. Pairs well with a Margherita pizza or aged cheese platter. @jonsteeves rated 89/100 - tasted June 2016
This full-bodied Italian red wine is a blend of 30% Corvina, 20% Corvinone and 20% Rondinella grapes. It features notes of dark fruit and spice. This wine is designated IGT rather than DOC to allow for more experimental approaches to winemaking and grapes, just as the Super Tuscan wines have done. - Community Wine Reviews
