Reviews and Ratings

Mark Cochrane Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Interesting that this wine doesn't use the traditional blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara but substitutes Corvinone for Molinara. The rest of the vinification still involves the maceration with Amarone leftovers. The Ripasso comes out as a very good wine with some blackberry fruit and pepper aromas. The medium to long finish of blackberry and mild tannins make it quite enjoyable. Pairs well with a sausage based ragu.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A great example of The Valpolicella Claasico Superiore style of Ripasso. Dark garnet with good viscosity, showing a fragrant nose of cherry, vanilla, baking spice and touch of pepper. Elegant and powerful palate with a mellow well-integrated blend of dark jammy fruit, spice, pepper and oak with a very harmonious mouthfeel. Extra-dry with a long spiced cherry finish. Try this with Mushroom Risotto garnished with Parmesan cheese for a match made in heaven.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A Great value ripasso offering supple, dense fruit, well rounded tannins and well balanced to the medium plus acidity. This is a crowd pleasing Valpolicella Classico superiore and a sure thing for pairing with antipasti, classic Italian lasagna and rustic tomato based dishes. Each sip calls the next. Enjoy. @jonsteeves rated 90/100 - tasted Oct 2016
