Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I am loving the complexity on this Ripasso. Aromas are pronounced with smoky and savoury notes along with a presence of baking spice, a slight peppery note (coriandor and carraway seed), and fruit notes of ripe berries. The palate is totally different , however! Ripe red berry holds the focus here with tame tannins, moderate (balanced) acidity, a medium plus body and a long off-dry finish. Enjoy now with braised leg of lamb! Tasted July 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Sweet and delicious dried fruits and great balance. This is an epic pizza wine that I'd recommend buying by the case. Tasted November 2016. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Smells divine! Perfumey black cherry, blackberry, hint of bell pepper, chocolate and baking spice. Not only does this wine please the nostrils, the palate is a happy camper too! Lots of dark berry, hint of forest floor, chocolate deliciousness. Medium bodied and easy drinking. I'll be keeping an eye out for this one. Yum!
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Smoky cherry and leather on the nose with some dried herbs and spice. The taste isn't what you expect going in with lots more up-front fruit than your typical ripasso. Behind the fruit is the leather from the aroma a quite a lot of black pepper and spice. Very fine tannins and a zippy cherry finish.
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Smokey cherry nose and smooth palette, medium to strong tannins.
A voluptuous, supple Italian red wine with layers of black cherry, anise, coffee and smoke aromas and flavours. This wine will cellar well. - Community Wine Reviews
