Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Charming old world style, aged leather, cherry, plum, savoury. Mouthwatering acidity, medium-plus tannins, medium body. Pairs well with tomato-based authentic Italian pasta dishes. Long finish with persistence of leather and cherry. Tasted 2015 vintage in Dec 2017. 91 points. Great value.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Pale garnet colour with medium plus intensity aromas of cherry, pomegranate, anise, leather, tobacco and some herbal fennel leaves. Flavours are dainty and delicate, featuring tart cherry, under ripe strawberry and cranberry. Some fine herbal notes of pepper, paprika and earth. Medium plus acidity, medium tannins and finish with some fresh, leafy herbs at the end. Pair with anti pasto and thin crust pizza with sun dried tomatoes. 88 points - tasted December 2017
From the Veneto wine region Lavarini (2015) is a Valpolicella Classico Superiore. The grapes for this wine were hand-harvested and fermented on their skins for 10 days. This wine is fragrant with spicy red cherries, raspberry and cake spices. Drink now and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
