This aromatic jewel of a wine from Bisquertt Family Vineyards will keep you coming back to the glass to see how it's unfolding. Exotic aromas of white flowers, baking spices and some white pear. Medium-bodied. Finishes just as fragrant as it starts with floral and spice notes. Perfect for mild to medium curries and spicy dishes or lobster in melted butter.

Viognier food pairings: cashew chicken stir-fry, mild curries, shellfish, ham.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Voluptuous, full-bodied, rich and creamy. Big nose and equally so on the palate. Ripe stonefruit, floral, buttered biscuit, canned mandarin orange. Balanced and integrating well. Pair with buttered popcorn, or a baked thickly cut white fish and seasonal veggies. Easily enjoyable without food. Tasted the 2017 vintage in July 2018. 91 points #greatvalue
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lovely aromatic apricot and lemon nose. Luscious palate shows tart apricot, lemon and floral notes, with a satiny mouthfeel and tart fruit finish to complete a very pretty picture.
Tasted June 2018
Wineboy rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Hmmm.... a miss here with elevated levels of SO2 giving a burnt match aroma. I didn't wait to see if this would blow off but tasted it immediately. A much crisper lighter Viognier than I like to see.
La Joya Gran Reserva 2017 is a well-priced and exotic Viognier produced from the Bisquertt Family Vineyards in the Colchagua Valley. This is a different style of Viognier with exotic florals and honey on the nose, white flowers, cake spice and yellow pear and tropical fruit flavours on the palate wrapped up in a vibrant acidity. Perfect for mild to medium curries or grilled lobster tails with lemon butter. - Community Wine Reviews
