Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Very pretty and fragrant. Aromas of peach, white florals, lychee and honey. Just off-dry, with medium+ acidity, and lovely fresh citrus and orchard fruit on the palate. Texture is smooth with a clean, mineral finish. Enjoy with fresh summer salads with goat cheese, or a smoked salmon appetizer.
Deborah Podurgiel Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Hester Creek’s Character white is always so much fun and easy to understand. The 2020 vintage is no different. Produced from 65% Pinot Gris and 35 % Gewürztraminer sourced from vineyards near the winery including the winery’s Golden Mile Bench and Road 7 estates. Wine lots were cool fermented for about 31 days, then blended and aged in stainless-steel tanks for four months on fine lees.

Character White 2020 is juicy, off-dry and fragrant with rose petal, lychee, peaches and cream aromas, with tropical fruit, pineapple, mango and citrus zest flavours on the palate. From a banner year of abundant ripe fruit balanced with good acidity. Chill and enjoy with brunch fare or something as simple as herbed flatbread and goat cheese. Tasted March 2021.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
