This aromatic Niagara white wine features fresh florals on the nose with white peach and honey blossom. Medium-bodied and refreshing. The 2012 vintage is a white wine blend of 60% Chardonnay, 11% Gewurztraminer, 20% Viognier and 9% Sauvignon Blanc. Pair with shellfish.

A bit of an eclectic kitchen-sink blend. It was done to honour the Speck family - the proprietors of Henry of Pelham. They've included some Niagara mainstays: Gewurz, Chard, Sauvignon Blanc, but also Viognier which occasionally can ripen in the intense heat of Niagara summers.
Light lemon colouration.
Aromas of turkish delight, lemon juice, wine gums, and confectioner's sugar.
The flavours are pleasant and the varietals are working together. The Viognier lends candied flavours, the Gewurz provides exotic aromatics, but the bodied is anchored in Chard (60% of the blend). Some nice pine nut flavours linger on the finish.
Steelhead trout with a maple glaze would go great with it.

Very aromatic - tropical and stone fruit. lemon and a little floral note; the palate is nicely balanced with more peach, apple with a dry nuttiness and fresh acidity taming the fruit. Keep a few bottles on hand for when friends drop by.

I was pleasantly surprised by this Ontario blend. Chardonnay was the most prominent varietal, lending the wine the apple, tropical fruit and hint of lemon, as well as the toasted oak characteristics (40% of the wine was barrel fermented, then it spent 8 months in oak). The viognier gives it slightly floral and spicy notes, then the rich gewurz and acidic sauvignon blanc balance it all out. Quite nice for white meat dishes like roast chicken or more flavourful fish dishes like trout.

Slightly floral on the nose, other aromas are peach, lychee, pears and apple. Soft on the palate at first, but finishes with some nice acidity. Flavours include pear and honey. Longer finish. This would pair nicely with summer salads or light fish dishes.
