Jane LeFresne rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: This wine is packed with flavours and aromas. Aromas of red berries, cooked fruit, baking spices and chocolate make it smell like the prefect fruit cake. Flavours of ripe cherry, raspberry, baking spices and chocolate. Medium to full bodied wine with good tannin and acidity. I would buy this wine again.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: A full-bodied dry Chianti Classico with aromatic cherry, woodsy, herbal, tobacco nose and palate. Just right with Spaghetti Putanesca studded with lots of black olives.
Brian Gray Hamilton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Deep garnet in colour with a nose showing layers of black cherry/raspberry, and subtle nuances of oak derived vanilla and spice. Palette of dark berry fruit is framed nicely by ample yet fine tannins and density of core fruit offers a long supple finish and the characteristic fresh acidity of sangiovese. I paired this wine with antipasto plate of Iberico dry cured ham, Calamata olives, Calabrese bread/olive oil and white balsamic dip.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: Medium body with aromas of leather, earth and cherry fruit. Good acidity with firm tannins and a medium finish. If you are looking for a wine for your Friday night pizza - this would fit the bill!
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review: Light to medium bodied, aromas of tart cherry, dried woody herbs, and a hint of tobacco and smoke. Dry, firm tannins, tart berry come through on the palate. A bit firm and young, but would pair nicely with rustic dishes, such as a mushroom risotto.
Trevor Sabourin - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review: The nose offers a mix of sweet red and black berries, cherry, earth, leather, baking spices, and a very slight gaminess (brett.). The fruit is more tart on the medium-bodied palate. A bit Simple, but nicely balanced overall. Tasted blind, Feb. 2016.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review: Deep ruby, shy nose with slight candied fruit, no noticeable oak, some cherry/berry. Light berry fruit with sour cherry, juicy acidity and fine chalky tannins and a medium finish. Needs food. Tasted blind February 2016
