A full-bodied Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon red wine blend aged in French and American oak barrels. Look for rich dark plum, blueberry, earthy and smoky flavours on this vintage. Berola is the original name for the 12th century monastery of Veruela when the land was first granted to Cistercian monks to tend and plant as vineyards. Awarded Gold at the 2018 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.

Food pairings: lamb shanks in red wine and roasted garlic, grilled lamb lollipops, stuffed lamb tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From Campo de Borja in Spain, Borsao Berola 2015, crafted mainly of Grenache and a touch of Syrah, delivers a pleasant bouquet of raspberry sauce, roasted plum, black tea, licorice, leather, chocolate and oak. Full-bodied with a long and savoury finish, the wine shows a nice structure and light tannins. The Berola presents flavors of prune, ripe strawberry, black tea, leather, pie crust and vanilla. Sure to please any Spanish wine lover on any occasion. Enjoy!
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Full bodied and on the higher range of alcohol. Notes of ripe cherry, blueberry pie, black pepper, smoke, rosemary. Great balanced acidity. This wine tastes MUCH more expensive than its price!
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Intensely aromatic with a nice combination of red fruit and dark fruit. Expect cherry and pomegranate to mingle with blackberry and plum. Oak contributes vanilla and baking spice. Full bodied with tannins and acidity integrated, on the gentler side, but not out of balance. Palate is fruity and jammy with a tasty mix of fruits and barrel. Finish shows the jammier side of the red and dark fruits with light oak accents. A fine wine for lamb chops or pork tenderloin.
From the Campo De Borja wine region, Borsao Berola 2015 is a medium-bodied Spanish red made from mostly Grenache and 20% Syrah wine grapes. The wine is aged in both French and American oak barrels. Berola is the original name for the 12th century monastery of Veruela when the land was first granted to Cistercian monks to tend and plant as vineyards. Floral on the nose with lots of fresh and ripe red cherry, blueberry, tea, vanilla and smoky flavours on this inviting red wine. Structured tannins. Decant one hour prior to serving with a barbeque pork ribs. - Community Wine Reviews
