From the Uco Valley in Mendoza, the 2017 vintage of the lovely Susana Balbo Signature is a medium-bodied, clean and fresh rose made from 60% Malbec and 40% Pinot Noir wine grapes. A crisp and refreshing Argentine rosé with notes of field berries and dried herbs. Pair with grilled chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Pretty pale peach colour with ripe peach & floral notes. Luscious, mouthwatering and satisfying on the dry palate, with good acidity and lemon on the refreshing finish. Enjoy with ceviche and summer fare.

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A light, crisp and zesty rosé. This is made from a blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Pinot Noir. Lightly coral coloured - very pale with light peach, apricot, pink grapefruit citrus and ground seashell mineral aromas. Flavours reveal tangerines, lemon zest, under ripe strawberries and orange peels. High acidity with a light body and a medium minus finish. Zesty acidity, great with food. A splash of white peppermint heat at the end. A nice complement to grilled garlic shrimp. 90 points - tasted May 2018
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted May 30, 2018. Colour pale pink. Legs medium. Aromas and flavours of citrus, strawberry, raspberry, lemon zest, sour cherry. Taste dry, medium minus mouthfeel, mouthwatering, crisp more citrus on the finish. An ok rose but in my opinion a bit pricey.
I had an avocado with salt, pepper and lemon and some side pieces of smoked salmon with wine. Good match because the creamy avocado and the fat of the smoked salmon was no problem for the wine. You still got that fresh crisp taste with the food.
Susana Balbo's Signature 2017 is produced at her Dominio del Plata winery from Malbec and Pinot Noir wine grapes grown in the Uco Valley. Grapes were harvested early and then gently pressed producing a bright, fresh rosé with fresh red berry flavours. Dominio del Plata is a medium-sized winery located in the Lujan de Cuyo region of Mendoza Argentina and was founded in 1999 by Susana Balbo. - Community Wine Reviews
