A full-bodied Bordeaux red wine blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Look for ripe plum, blackberry, cedar spice on this earthy red made for steak. Tannins are firm and chewy, needs a couple of years in cellar to mellow out.

Reviews and Ratings

Lori Sweet rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This beautiful dark red Bordeaux presents with hints of dark chocolate, coffee and ripe plums. The silky smooth finish becomes more pronounced with decanting. Pairs well with rich meats or vegan meals with bold sauces. Drink now since 2015 was a great year or this wine will cellar well for a treat in the future.

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

2015 was a good year for Merlot and Cab Franc for Right Bank Bordeaux. We have that to thank for this simple but classic Right Bank Bordeaux blend that won't break the bank. Fresh fruit on the nose and palate with hints of barnyard. Tannins are starting to be tamed. Decant for an hour or so. Try it with rich stews or roast beef. Tasted June 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Gold winner of the Concours des Grands Vin de France a Macon 2018, Chateau Hyot 2015 shows elegance and accessibility. Made from 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine reveals aromas of tart cherry, plum, black pepper, cocoa, spice, vanilla and cedar. Located in a world heritage region in Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux, Chateau Hyot always produces vibrant quality wine. Their 2015 vintage shows a medium body, polished tannins, with a mix of fruity and oaky finish. Palate: plum, cherry, black pepper, leather, spice, smoke and oak. Enjoy.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Sweet savoury smoke and cured meat aromas over sawdust and ripe fruit. Good acid and tannins, definitely a food wine. A little timid on the finish with dark fruit and cocoa. Great value Bordeaux red that overdelivers for the price. A good match for pork, lamb, and beef dishes.
From the Côtes De Bordeaux - Castillon, Château Hyot 2015 is a medium-plus-bodied Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Bordeaux red blend produced by Alain Aubert. Fragrant with black cherry, red berry, cedar box spice, dark chocolate and vanilla aromas on the nose with same on the palate matched with good acidity for food. Tannins are chewy. Great value under $17. Good now but better in one year or more. - Community Wine Reviews
