Established in 2001, ARA is a privately owned New Zealand wine company. ARA is a single vineyard site, with 385 hectares currently under sauvignon blanc and pinot noir vines.
Our vineyard lies at the confluence of the Wairau and Waihopai rivers in the world famous Marlborough region of New Zealand.
It is an extensive and ancient river terrace that is a remarkable feature on the New Zealand landscape and considerably older than most New Zealand alluvial soils.
The soils show remarkable uniformity with higher levels of clay and gravel - conditions encountered in some great French viticultural regions - superb for growing exceptional sauvignon blanc and pinot noir.
