Since there is a Chalk Hill winery in Sonoma, California, the Australian Chalk Hill winery goes by Wits End in North America. A blend of 63% cabernet franc, 23% merlot and 14% cabernet sauvignon. The colour is relatively light but bright, the bouquet a floral, fragrant conjunction of red and black fruits and spice, the medium-bodied palate building on the berry fruit with more savoury nuances, and fine-grained tannins providing length and mouth- feel. It will repay patience for a few years. Drink until 2018. Score: 91 Source: James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au
