Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: May 22, March 7, January 4 and December 16.

Tasting note:

Vintages Wine Panel: A new vintage and a new label, but the same high-quality, value-priced Malbec from Chakana that we released on June 20, 2009. Made in what is quickly becoming the popular Argentine style, it is filled with berry and stone fruits (raspberry, blackberry and plum) and shows remarkable balance. There is a lot of pleasure to be had here. My note: Simple and tasty, but you can’t beat the price. Full-bodied with straight-forward notes of black plums and berries. Knock it back! Food matches: back ribs, grilled steak.
