Vintages Wine Panel: Alexander’s Crown was the first vineyard-designated Cabernet from Sonoma County and has been producing stunning wines since its first vintage in 1974. The cooler mesoclimate and gravelly loam soils of this vineyard give this wine its distinct flavor profile. Winemaker Rick Sayre aged the 2005 for twenty months in mostly French oak giving it a subtle toasty spice, chocolate and cigar box characteristics as well as vibrant blackberry, juicy cassis and mint notes. Cellar for 3-6 years or decant. My note: Rich and concentrated with deep aromas of black plums, black raspberries, dark spices and hickory smoke. Full-bodied goodness.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
