A superb cool-climate Cabernet Franc, quite possibly the best I've tasted yet from Ontario. Fleshy ripe black plums depths give way to savoury herbs and cedar smoke. Full-bodied, supple and rich with a satisfying long finish. Yes please!

Cabernet Franc food pairings: wood-fired prosciutto & arugula pizza, beef carpaccio with shaved Parmesan, Ossobuco with lemon gremolata.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Prominent savoury and plummy flavours with hints of smoke and flinty minerality. Tannins are young and chewy against some juicy acidity and a long mocha finish. This wine is still developing and as it ages so tannins will mellow down and stewed fruit should become more prominent. Enjoy with blue cheese mushroom beef burgers. Only the highest quality fruit from the very best Lincoln Lakeshore sites was chosen
to craft the Reserve Cabernet Franc. In a warm and long growing season like 2010,
the result is a rich, yet elegant Cabernet Franc of extraordinary complexity. Enticingly
layered, the nose is vibrant and changing, sweet fruit notes of black cherry, blackcurrant and pomegranate giving way to white pepper, peppermint tea and cedar. Dark fruit notes also dominate the palate along with dried herbs, black peppercorn and a hint of spice from 18 months in French oak.
