Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Whole bunch pressing, 80% fermented in seasoned French oak with wild yeast fermentation and 9 months of stirring on the lees blended with 20% tank fermented pays off in character and complexity here. Gentle toasty and rich, stone fruit aromas float up in the glass. Medium bodied with slightly creamy apple and apricot flavours show on the palate along with a nice citrus seam. Nicely structured with a long finish. Pair with chicken or veal. Tasted February 2020. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A light-bodied Chardonnay from Margaret River, Australia, there is a slightly fruity and green aroma. The palate has a persistent salty, mineral taste along with citrus. Medium acidity and a clear, bright finish. Serve with firm fish or seafood.
Produced by winemaker, Glenn Goodall, Xanadu Djl 2018 Chardonnay is a pale straw colour in the glass. Elegant and floral with fresh pear, nectarine, almond and citrus aromas on the nose. Dry, medium-bodied, bright and fresh with ripe pear, grapefruit, white-fleshed stone fruit, citrus zest and nougat, creamy, mouth-filling and finish long on the palate. Xanadu was established in 1977 by Dr John Lagan (Djl). The vineyards are now owned by the Rathbone family. Three-quarters of the fruit for this 100% Chardonnay blend is estate grown in the Wallcliffe sub-region and sourced from the Lagan Estate and Stevens Road vineyards with the balanced sourced from the cooler Karridale sub-region of the Margaret River. Enjoy now and for the next six years. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
