A robust and richly flavoured Spanish red wine with savoury bacon notes and dark spice on the nose and palate. This wine is made from Tempranillo and Graciano grapes that are grown on estate-owned vineyards. The wine is aged for 24 months in French and American oak barrels. Pair with rosemary lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A lively savoury Spanish red with subtle plum and cassis fruit and a long cedar, tobacco flavoured finish. Tannins are young, grippy and prominent. This Tempranillo-Graciano blend is a full-bodied, dry, well-balanced red. Enjoy with braised lamb shanks. Tasted Feb 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
This Spain Rioja is the Selección de Familia, and 2010 was a great year for Vivanco Reserva. This wine is an elegant, zesty red blend mostly made with Tempranillo and 10% Graciano. Wine is berry ripe and fresh and was matured in barrel for two years. Great price on this Reserva. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
