Tinhorn Creek Vineyards Oldfield Series Syrah 2008
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Tinhorn Creek Vineyards Oldfield Series Syrah 2008 Wine Review
Seductive nose with mouth-watering acidity that makes it great with a wide range of dishes. Luscious and smooth and full-bodied. This wine was aged for 18 months in French oak. 4.6/5 Syrah food pairings: BBQ lamb, beef brisket, pork tenderloin, lamb ragout with orecchiette.

|Our Syrah comes from both our vineyards in Oliver; Tinhorn Creek (Golden Mile|
Bench) and Diamondback (Black Sage Bench). One third of the 2008 Syrah was
fermented in open top fermenters and the remaining two thirds in small stainless
steel tanks. It was aged for 19 months in new to 2 year old French oak. It was then
blended together before bottling after which it spent approximately 18 months
