Tinhorn Creek Vineyards Oldfield Series Syrah 2007
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Tinhorn Creek Vineyards Oldfield Series Syrah 2007 Wine Review
Lovely deep notes of black cherry and pepper with some blackberry in the background. Round, supple and full-bodied. Luscious! 4.6/5 Syrah food pairings: lamb korma, prime rib, dishes wth black bean sauce, BBQ fish.

|Syrah is an astonishing South Okanagan success story. Our hot, dry growing|
conditions are uncannily similar to Syrah’s home base in the Northern Rhone, and
clearly Syrah is at home here too. One third of the 2007 Syrah was fermented in
open top fermenters and the remaining two thirds in small stainless steel tanks.
It was aged for 19 months in new to 2 year old French oak. It was then blended
together before bottling. It then spent over a year in bottle before release.
