Reviews and Ratings

Fermented in stainless steel, 28-day primary fermentation for extended maceration. Aged 24 months in neutral French oak barriques prior to bottling.

Grange Northfield Cabernet Franc is only made in the best vintages; 2010 being one that was hot and dry well through harvest. Hand harvested and then hand sorted in the winery, this version represents the best of what our farm produces. The supple texture is quite sophisticated. It is drinking a little young at this time, but the blackberry-on-toast character comes through once it’s been decanted or left in the glass. The nose has blackberry and cherry but also has the delicacy of some floral notes to bring it all together, scent-wise. On the palate, you’ll find juicy blackberries, cranberries and sour cherries with a stony minerality that adds an extra dimension to the wine.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
