If this wine were from Bordeaux, it would be one of the five first growth: so elegant, stately, with great finesse. A benchmark Californian Cabernet Sauvignon from the heart of Napa Valley. This stunning red wine offers layered complexity and flavour. Aromas of ripe blackberries mingle with cedar. Great length, depth, balance and savoury character. This towering Californian red wine is an excellent cellar candidate. It also makes for a superb dinner party wine, but don't just save it for then. Serve it tonight with a well-seasoned pepper steak.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Stags Leap District in the Napa Valley, The Leap (2013) is a full-bodied, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon with a cedar, spice and blackberry nose. This structured, well-balanced, savoury red is lush and plush on the palate with ripe blackberry fruit, black currant, dried herbs, chocolate and cedar notes. Tannins are firm, but manageable. Drink now and for the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews
