A lovely, buttery, full-bodied Californian Chardonnay with aromas of toasted almond, golden apple and pear. Layers of complexity and pleasure. Long finish. Pair with grilled chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A Napa Valley treasure! Rich pineapple, citrus lemon and smoke kick off this crisp yet rich chard that gives excellent structure and acidity. Unfolds beautifully on a creamy, tropical palate with mouthwatering ending. Fantastic gift wine.

Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A beautiful Napa Chardonnay that has evolved away from the overdone, over-oaked style that some avoid these days. This has a much higher acidity level keeping you wanting more even after 2 glasses (I've personally researched this fact at home). The oak is newer oak which gives a more subtle approach to things with the flavour of wood and vanilla.
Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

One of the most popular and oldest winery in Napa Valley; its first vintage was in 1893. Fresh and rich on the nose with a quite impressive balance between oaky buttery notes of vanilla and toast, and fresh lemon lime acidity. Medium to full bodied on the palate, a good fit for people who enjoy an oaky rich Chardonnay. Enjoyable with white fish, quail, and cornish hen.
From the Napa Valley, Stags' Leap 2016 is a vibrant and smoky, medium-bodied Chardonnay with baked apple, lemon curd, rich on the palate with a lingering finish of apple pie spice. Stags' Leap Winery was established in 1893. - Community Wine Reviews
