Reviews and Ratings

Alana L rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Made with 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot from St. Supéry’s sustainably farmed winery located in the Rutherford region, this is a unique wine with subtle notes of smoke and charcoal on the nose, followed by fruit (raspberry, blackberry and black plum), vanilla, forest floor and toasty oak notes (32% is aged on new French oak for 20 months). Elegant with a good balance of acidity and fine, integrated tannins, it punches above its weight from a value for money perspective.

Would pair beautifully with a mixed grill platter of meat and vegetables fresh off the barbecue or a charcuterie and hard cheese board.

In Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon is often called the King of Grapes, accounting for more than 50% of the region’s planted acreage grown in all 16 sub regions. To many, Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are almost synonymous.

Tasted as part of the 'California Wine Month: Napa Valley’s King of Grapes - Cabernet Sauvignon’, a panel discussion and tasting to explore the quality, personality, versatility and diversity of the region’s signature grape, bringing together some of its most celebrated winemakers to discuss their insights and experience with the variety; moderated by Master Sommelier and speaker Andrea Robinson and California Wines Canada and featuring panelists Marcus Notaro, Winemaker Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars; Michael Scholz, Winemaker, St. Supery and Priyanka French, Winemaker, Signorello Estates.

Cheers!
From the Napa Valley, California St. Supéry 2016 is a fragrant Cabernet Sauvignon driven, full-bodied red with crushed violets and black currant aromas on the nose, Vibrant with red plum, blueberry, earthy florals, black olive, mint and toasty oak spice flavours on the palate.
