Minty black plums on the nose that opens to a fleshy seductive richness on the tongue. Full-bodied and supple. I like that the fruit doesn't taste sweet but more savoury. Great food wine, and all-round lovely wine for the money.

Carmenère food pairings: T-bone steaks, bison burgers.

Tasty wine that shows Chile’s knack for excellent Carmenère. Deep ruby in the glass, it comes out guns blazing with mulberry, wild blueberry, black plum, tobacco and woodsmoke. Full body, good ripeness and concentration, with a dark fruit core accented by just-right smoky accents. Enjoy tonight. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Dec. 2012
