A solid producer delivers with this full-bodied, supple, savoury red that offers aromas of black and purple plums and licorice. Good grip on the palate with a satisfying finish. Great for barbecues and steak dinners.

D rated this wine as 89/100
Vintage Conditions: Fruit for this wine was sourced from selected vineyards in South Eastern Australia. The 2009 vintage was characterised by some unusual weather
conditions. Below average winter rainfall was followed by a relatively warm and dry spring, which ended with a cool and damp November and December, increasing sub-soil moisture. Warm summer conditions brought on an early vintage which was not dissimilar to 2008.
Maturation: Parcels of this wine were oak matured to add a touch of spicy complexity, while maintaining a focus on the wine's
fresh fruit characters.
Colour: Crimson red with a dark core.
Nose: Enticing dark berry aromas and plums with a touch of varietal leafiness and subtle oak.
Palate: Up-front blackberry fruits and cassis are provided by the Cabernet component while the Merlot fills out the midpalate with fleshy plum fruit. The finish lingers with typical Cabernet tannins providing a nice amount of grip.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
