There it is again: that unmistakable, exotic aroma of old tanned leather and cigar smoke. Love it! Try a mature wine like this if you haven’t and discover the many pleasures of “tertiary” aromas that only develop with bottle age. This is simply some kind of wonderful. Full-bodied, smooth and elegant.

Tempranillo food pairings: braised lamb.

Gabriel Israel rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Are you kidding me?! If you like Rioja Gran Reserva wines, buy a case (yes, 12 bottles) of this amazing value. It has everything a good bargain has to offer - lots in the bottle for more than a fair price. Rich nose. full of flavors. And with a color like that another 5-7 years in the cellar with no effort.
This is a funky, intensely mushroomy Rioja, its earthiness merging into cool blue fruit with a spark of minerality. Reductive when first poured, it needs air to refresh its flavors and bring out the juiciness in the fruit. Score - 92 Source: Wine and Spirits

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
