Mint and blackberry mingle on the nose to draw you closer to the glass. Then the wine unfolds slowly but surely in your mouth, spreading its layers of black fruit flavour and toasty oak to every crevice. Terrific balance with so much power and intensity.

Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2007 Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz is nicely aromatic, medium to full bodied, fruity wine. The nose displays blackberry, blueberry, coconut and oak, whereas strawberry, prune and green pepper can be noted on the palate. Tannins are refined (decant for 30 min) and the finish is medium to long. Suggested drinking between 2014 to 2020. My impression: NICE, 90 pts - fruit bomb. Tasted June/11.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
